![]() ![]() They are memorable in their simplicity and carry Anthony's vocals in a mix that is both clear and understandable. The album stands out with its guitar lines that are tuned to recall 90's era Sepultura. Anthony, the sole member (and founder of the group) handles vocals and guitars, and is helped by session musicians completing the lineup for this album. It manages to create a balanced crossover of thrash/death/groove metal with added effects to evoke a post apocalyptic world of our own making. The music: Death Tribe tackles the idea of freedom with a medium that has established itself as an excellent carrier of political messages since the early Eighties. So why did we end up subjugating ourselves? Why did we put ourselves in shackles? The topics of religiosity and mass subjugation through political demagoguery are a staple, but another subject that many consider taboo, is added: Ecocide through Overpopulation. ![]() Death Tribe (originally from Lebanon) brushes off the ephemeral outer skin of humanity's social pretense and presents the human condition as it came out of the womb naked, pure, curious and most importantly, Free. ![]() The concept: As in every true to itself metal act, focus is always on removing the decaying crust that cloaks the world and zooming straight to its essence and spirit. "Beyond the Red Light District." is Death Tribe's second album and my introduction to the band. ![]()
